Industry 4.0 interconnected HMI systems

AGRITECH and MMT connect the operator, vehicle and business systems through YouControl. Monitoring, remote diagnostics and exchange of job orders and instructions in a single system, with the HMI classification also confirmed for the new attestation process.

The correct technical scope

Interface, data and connected operations

The technical analyses are documents commissioned by RESEC from an accredited certification body, which examined AGRITECH and MMT from the on-board components to the YouControl platform. They classify both systems as intelligent human-machine interfaces that assist operators with production, maintenance and logistics activities.

Intelligent HMI interface

The operator views data, alarms, events and job orders through YouControl on a display or enabled device.

Business interconnection

Two-way exchange of data and instructions between machine, operator and the YouControl platform, with data that can be exported for business processes.

Job orders and instructions

Remote delivery of missions, planned activities and operating instructions from the central system to the vehicle.

Monitoring and remote diagnostics

Location, operating status, alarms, history and reports to track vehicle use and support maintenance.

System scope

AGRITECH and MMT do not replace any CNC or PLC systems on the machine. Their role is to enable the HMI interface, monitoring, communication and interconnection.

Compliance process

From Industry 4.0 to the new hyper-depreciation scheme

Technical documentation is being updated to the new regulatory framework without changing the HMI classification of AGRITECH and MMT systems.

2022 — 2024 Documentation issued

AGRITECH and MMT technical analyses

The analyses supporting the conformity attestations classified the systems as intelligent HMI interfaces designed for interconnection, information integration and remote diagnostics.

2026 Analysis issued

New hyper-depreciation scheme

In July 2026 the appointed body issued the technical analysis updated to Italian Law 199/2025 and the new Annex IV, confirming the systems’ classification as intelligent HMI interfaces.

New Italian tax framework

Increase in the depreciable tax cost

The measure covers investments in new interconnected capital assets made between 1 January 2026 and 30 September 2028.

Frequently asked questions

Industry 4.0 without surprises

Requirements, documentation and evidence of interconnection: the questions to ask, from buying the machine to any tax inspection.

These answers are for information only and are not tax advice: each investment must be assessed by the company and its advisers.

01 · Before investing

Does installing AGRITECH or MMT make the machine eligible for the incentive?

Not on its own. The system brings an HMI interface, data and instruction exchange and remote diagnostics to the machine: part of what interconnection requires. Eligibility depends on the individual asset, namely its characteristics, its connection to the company’s processes and the documentation required by the applicable tax scheme.

When should the incentive claim be set up?

At the time of purchase. Whoever handles the claim needs to know the machine, the system configuration and the business processes to be connected, in order to check the asset’s requirements and prepare the documentation required by the applicable scheme.

02 · Documentation

What is the AGRITECH and MMT technical analysis?

It is the document commissioned by RESEC from an accredited certification body, which examined the system from the on-board components to the YouControl platform. It classifies the system as an intelligent human-machine interface (HMI), ready for interconnection, integration and remote diagnostics. It concerns the system, not the individual machine: it does not demonstrate the requirements of the machine it is installed on, nor the interconnection of the individual unit, which must be verified machine by machine.

Who signs the technical appraisal, certificate or declaration?

The tax documentation is the responsibility of the company claiming the incentive: a technical appraisal by a qualified professional, a certificate of conformity from an accredited body or, where and within the limits allowed by the applicable scheme, a declaration by its legal representative. The RESEC commissioning report certifies the installation and operation of the system: it does not cover the tax requirements and does not replace these documents.

Which documents should be kept?

The contract and invoices, with the legal reference where the scheme requires it; the technical appraisal, certificate or declaration; the commissioning report and the system’s technical documentation; evidence of use, such as YouControl Monthly Reports, job orders sent and service interventions. Inspections can take place years after the investment, so it pays to archive this evidence as you go.

03 · After installation

Is installing the system enough, or does it need to be used?

It needs to be used. Interconnection must be effective: data and instructions genuinely exchanged between the company and the machine in day-to-day work. Job orders, reports and scheduled maintenance leave dated evidence, which carries more weight than proof prepared at the time of an inspection.

What happens if the device stops transmitting?

A prolonged interruption weakens the evidence of interconnection for the period in which data are missing, even if the machine keeps working. Regularly check each machine’s last transmission on YouControl and, if a system is not communicating, contact support straight away; keep a record of the dates and cause of the intervention.

Can the device be replaced or removed?

Yes, provided you document the date, the reason, the components replaced and the new commissioning. If an inspection or dispute is under way, agree with your adviser how to document the system’s condition before removing or modifying it, for example with photos and a written record: the installed system is part of the evidence.

What should I do if the Italian Revenue Agency sends a request?

Involve your tax adviser immediately and meet the deadlines stated in the notice. Export the Monthly Reports for the period concerned and gather the technical appraisal or declaration, the commissioning report and the technical documentation. At your adviser’s request, RESEC can provide the system’s technical documentation and the data available on the platform for the machines concerned.
