ISO/IEC 27017
Cloud-specific controls
Adds controls tailored to cloud environments, including separation between customer environments and the allocation of responsibilities between provider and user.

Personal data protection
Covers the controls used by public cloud providers to protect personal data processed on behalf of customers.
SOC 2 / SOC 3
Independently audited controls
Independent auditors assess the provider’s controls against applicable criteria such as security, availability and confidentiality. SOC 3 provides a public report on these controls.
These certifications and audits apply to Google and the services within their respective scopes; they are not certifications held by RESEC or YouControl. In the architecture described here, ISO 27017 and ISO 27018 cover document database, authentication, file storage and backend processing services.

The document database and file storage automatically encrypt data before writing it to disk. For files, Google documents the use of AES-256.
